Employee Management & Labour Efficiency Survey Now Open

Want to know your farm’s labour efficiency and benchmark it with other Ontario dairy producers? Have you ever wondered what the current market wage is for dairy employees? The Progressive Dairy Operators (PDO) is collecting data on Ontario dairy farms to determine labour efficiency per cow and per hectoliter of milk produced, position (e.g. milker, calf feeder, herd manager) wages, and other compensation. Since 2004, PDO has completed the Labour Survey every 3 years and reported on trends on labour efficiency and employee management. The labour survey gives farmers valuable information and is now open to all producers. The survey will take 20-45 minutes to complete, depending on whether you have the information readily available and the number of employees/owners you must add.
Participants will receive an individualized report and a copy of the final report to help you benchmark labour efficiency on your farm.

To help you prepare for the survey you will find an attached document with information and data needed for this survey. All data collected in this survey is confidential and will only be presented as aggregated data. No individual farm or employee position data will be shared.

The deadline to complete the survey is January 12, 2024 11:59 pm.
